The world´s biggest clean vehicle ranking?

There is an unique opportunity to see some of the latest developments in the world of environmental developments and cars i Gothenburg June 1st, 2010.

What may very well be the world´s biggest clean vehicle ranking is taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden June 1st.

Up to 50 cars that all meet the stringent environmental and safety criteria in Sweden are selected and will be presented at the STCC racing ring in the city centre. All major car manufacturing companies are eager to have their clean vehicle range on display to compete for this prestigious title.

The list will be presented on this web site May 31st.

The cars are reviewed by four juries; families with young children, seniors (65+), managers with environmental responsibility in Swedish companies and finally, motor journalists. Noteworthy is that all groups define their own criteria, suiting their interest group.

The ranking is set up by Gröna Bilister, the Swedish Association of Green Motorists. Gröna Bilister does not have any influence on the final selection. The 2010 winner was the biogas-powered Volkswagen Passat EcoPower.

The environmental criteria set are: Emissions less than 110 grammes carbon dioxides per kilometre for fossil fuel cars, and corresponding to 70 grammes of carbon dioxide for bio fuel cars. The emissions of bio fuel cars are calculated using a conversion factor calculated by Swedish authorities.

The safety criteria are set to: EURO NCAP five stars or more than 5+2 stars in the older system.

A press conference will be held in connection to the event at Frihamnspiren at 11.00.
